Our Visionary Grants

Empowering the Unseen Artist

Financial barriers should never be the ceiling of creativity. The TERAVARNA Foundation provides direct grants to gifted artists from underserved communities worldwide to turn their vision into reality.

About Our Artist Grants

Empowering the Unseen Artist

The TERAVARNA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity created to support artists and art communities through practical, measurable help. Our Artist Grants are designed for under-resourced visual artists—people with serious creative commitment who face financial or systemic barriers that limit access to materials, production, and opportunity.

This is not a competition. There are no style requirements. We’re here to fund forward motion.

What We Fund

Empowering the Unseen Artist

Use the grant for needs that directly strengthen your work, such as:

  • Materials & tools (paint, canvas, clay, paper, digital equipment, etc.)

  • Production costs (printing, framing, firing, casting, fabrication)

  • Documentation (professional photography, scanning, portfolio building)

  • Learning & mentorship (classes, workshops, portfolio reviews)

  • Exhibition readiness (presentation, installation supplies, shipping support)

  • Community impact (optional: workshops or local art initiatives)

Note: We prioritize budgets that are specific and realistic—bullet points are perfectly fine.

Grant Tracks

Three Tiers of Giving

Choose the track that best matches your need. If you’re unsure: apply anyway—we may recommend the best fit during review.

Who Should Apply

Empowering the Unseen Artist

You’re eligible if you:

  • Are 18+ (or 16+ with guardian consent)

  • Are an active visual artist (any medium)

  • Face meaningful resource barriers (including, but not limited to, financial constraints, limited access to supplies/studio, displacement, disability-related barriers, rural isolation, systemic disadvantage, etc.)

  • Can provide a small portfolio or links to recent work

  • Can receive funds legally in your region (we’ll guide you if there are restrictions)

What we mean by “under-resourced”
We use “under-resourced” with respect. It means your circumstances meaningfully limit your ability to create, present, or grow your work—regardless of talent. We do not require anyone to share painful personal details. You may provide only what you’re comfortable sharing.

What You’ll Need

Empowering the Unseen Artist

To apply, you’ll submit:

  • 6–10 artworks (uploads or links)

  • A short artist statement (150–300 words)

  • A clear use-of-funds plan (a few bullet points is enough)

  • Optional: 60-second video introduction (phone quality is fine)

  • Optional: reference or mentor note (not required)

Note: If internet access is limited where you are, you may submit fewer files and include links instead.
